One of the most important elements of our mission is encouraging students to pursue African heritage-centered research, and to facilitate the successful completion of their work.

The MIAA strives to make available a number of grants each year for Honours, Masters and Doctoral students, as well as the Amanda Clarke Fieldwork Scholarship specifically aimed at African students who wish to attend an archaeological field school.

As individual awards become available we will announce the opportunity as widely as possible, and invite applications from qualifying candidates. Announcements will appear first on this website on the News and Events page, and will then be published in our newsletter Simulizi.

When awards are announced, all application guidelines, conditions and forms will be downloadable from the relevant links above, and candidates will be notified of the outcome within the specified time frame.
